Around 10 am I set the air conditioner to 67º, thinking it would cool the room enough to make it less like a sauna in here this afternoon. Did that work? It helped. It wasn't cool. It's around 20 minutes after sunset and the temperature is down to 94º. That's about the limit of the air conditioner for cooling the room. So it feels like around 80º. I have been taking a lot of cold baths, which also helps. Its still a problem when you get out. Yesterday I felt like I was going to faint. I do the chores and most of the rooms have no air conditioners, so it's just straight 102 -104º heat. Today it was 102º. The neat index has been around 118 to 124º because there isn't much humidity. It's forecast to stay hot for about another week. Maybe it will be better next Sunday. Another problem with cooling is last year during heat waves I would put ice packs in my clothes, but this year the freezer is broken so I haven't had the ice packs. I should have bought an ice maker.
This has been a cool summer for us. A few weeks of hot weather and then it cooled down.

DeleteWell, probably. I should have switched out the air conditioner around May I guess.
DeleteThis whole problem will be over for this year by September I think, which is soon.
