Mysterious Wheat Penny

I noticed a coin on the kitchen floor yesterday.  For some reason, I knew just looking at it that it was a wheat penny.

This design is out of circulation these days so it's unlikely that one would find them in change.   They're not extremely valuable.  Just an interesting coin.   I like to keep them when I happen upon one.

But how did this wheat penny find its way to the floor in the kitchen?  No one but me has been in there, probably for a month.  I would have noticed it before it had been on the floor very long.  It isn't one of mine because I keep them squirreled away in a change purse that I don't use.

I'm happy to have another wheat penny, even with a curious history.  It's a 1946 coin, with an S under the date.  I think that means the San Fransisco mint.   Keep this and you'll never go broke!
