Helene the Weathergirl

Looking out on the horizon, one can see the light at the end of the summer tunnel.   Right now the temperature is 102º.   And what's the forecast?   Friday 103º to 106º.   Saturday who knows?  It will probably rain over the weekend, which means Saturday and or Sunday.  Probably heavy rain.  Most likely the heat wave will break at that point.   Next week the temperatures should be in the mid 90s.  For the week coming up every day has more likelihood of rain than sunshine.  And at that point we will be at mid August.  While this isn't the end of summer, the heat waves will probably finally be over.

Fall can't come soon enough.  Summer has brought an abundance of overgrown grass and no yard man, ferocious chiggers outside, violent ants taking over inside, and unending heat waves.   So mid August should be a turning point, when the catastrophe that is summer begins to wind down.  Then sometime in September the whole fiasco should resolve, the grass will quit growing, the ants and the chiggers will go away, any drought will be over, and the temperature will be delightful, in the 80s every day.  And the next thing you know the leaves will change colors.  Rejoice.
