Why don't we roast chestnuts anymore?

  1. I recall we slept in a tent sometimes when we lived in Conely. In the morning we would make a campfire and bake potatoes on the ashes. Then we went to the house and got Mom up and she would bring a frying pan and scramble eggs. Then we ate around the campfire. This is how I learned to bake potatoes.

Mom liked boiled potatoes, peeled and covered with butter and parsley.

    There are still Asian chestnuts.

    1. Yes, I was curious about the chestnut situation. I think I had heard a while ago that there was a chestnut blight. I don't know very much about the subject.
